Dress Code Requirements: Each grade level has a specific color of shirt. All shirts, sweatshirts, and long-sleeved undershirts must be the same color as the assigned grade-level color. Only solid color piolo shirts with the Fonville logo may be worn. Pants must be khaki or navy (NO JEANS), must be sized to fit and worn at waist.
- Grade 6 Orange
- Grade 7 Gray
- Grade 8 Navy Blue
Backpacks must be clear or mesh. Only closed-in shoes are alllowed. Sandals, backless shoes, house shoes and flipflops are NOT allowed

Fonville Middle School Named to the

NCEA’s Higher Performing Schools List

Mr. Roger Ibarra, announced to the faculty that Fonville Middle School had been named to the NCEA Higher Performing Schools List. This list recognizes schools that are raising student achievement levels more quickly than schools that enroll similar student populations. In addition, schools must meet achievement targets established under the federal No Child Left Behind Act in order to be eligible for the list. Researchers at the NCEA used a value-added approach to analyze student performance on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills in math, reading, science, social studies and writing. This approach measures whether students performed at a higher-than-predicted level, based on their prior performance.

“These phenomenal results demonstrate that all students, regardless of their background, are capable of achieving at high levels when they are taught by high-quality teachers in schools run by effective principals,” said HISD Superintendent Dr. Terry Grier. “I want to congratulate all of the hard-working members of Team HISD who are getting the job done for our city’s children.”

Fonville Middle School is a National Center for Educational Achievement School.
