May is upon us and this month is full of activities – from field trips to awards to a play!

Stanford/Aprenda testing is the week of May 9.  We are testing everyday and it is important that the students are present every day.

Ms. Davis and several students have been working on the musical “Wonka Kids”  and will present it on Friday, May 12.    Thanks to all the parents, students, and teachers who came on Saturday to help build sets!  (Some former students helped out too!)

May is also the month for awards ceremonies.  We will be sending home a schedule for the ceremonies soon!  Students will receive awards for having Perfect Attendance and achieving Honor Roll all year.  Certificates will be given for Good Citizenship  and meeting the  Accelerated Reader goal as well.  Two students from each classroom will receive the certificates for Most Improved and the Principal’s Award.

5^th grade students who have attended Carrillo Elementary since Pre-Kindergarten or Kindergarten are eligible to receive the Alan A. Vaughan Award.  This award, named after the first principal of Carrillo Elementary, is given the student chosen by me who best exemplifies the Carrillo Cougar Spirit!
