Summer Reading

Stay ahead this summer by reading your favorite books!  Students can participate in both reading programs for the chance to win awesome prizes.  Read below for more information then print your grade-level reading list!
 
 
Millionaire Club
 
The Millionaire Club is a coordinated effort by the Department of Library Services and Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment to keep HISD students reading over the summer months.  The title came from the reading goal that was set: 200,000 HISD students reading 5 books over the summer for a total of one million books.

 

Jane Long participates in the Millionaire Club initiative each year, so students should be prepared to submit their forms in September!

  

 

Houston Public Library

 

Join the "Strike out Boredom" reading program with the Houston Public Library.  The John P. McGovern Foundation Summer Reading Program is free and rewards reading with a free book and the chance to win even more prizes.
